Why did you sign up to do this race?
The reason I signed up for this race was because it was the first ever Take The Bridge race in the UK. All the other races had been in America so far. I wanted to become part of the race’s history.

How did you feel once you crossed the finish line?
Relieved 😅 I’ve never ran that sort of speed before! I had given everything on the road.
My heart was thumping so hard I thought it was going to burst out of my chest. Each breath was a fight to hold, too, and my lungs were desperate to catch another breath.
What would you say was the hardest challenge in this race?
The hardest part of the race was trying not to be intimidated by the other runners. I was lining up with some of the fastest urban London runners has to offer. I felt like I shouldn’t be there and was taking someone else’s spot but I was there and wasn’t going to back down.
What was the most rewarding thing about completing this run?
The most rewarding for me was coming into the home stretch where the finish line was in the tunnel. The roar of the crowd was deafening, the good vibes were unbelievable. Having my friends & captains from Chasing Lights Collective/ Run Dem Crew cheer me on will always stay with me.

Was there anything or anyone in particular that helped you throughout your training?
The people who helped me with my training had to be my captain Nav Kani from Chasing Lights, always there helping me, giving me those wise words and always telling me the truth even if I didn’t want to hear it.
Also my girlfriend – she always believes in me and helps me strive to be a better athlete.
Any final words of encouragement and thoughts you’d like to share?
Don’t let anyone tell you you’re not a runner. If you can run a 6min mile or a 12min Mile – the distance is still the same. Surround yourself with people who will help you as much as you will help them.
